Dispute Resolution

Policy for resolving disputes over domain name ownership and rights.

1. General Principle

CETNIC encourages parties to resolve disputes amicably. If a resolution cannot be reached, the dispute may be escalated to the Society for arbitration.

2. Trademark Claims

If a domain is registered in bad faith infringes on a valid trademark, the rights holder may file a Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) complaint with CETNIC.

3. Resolution Process

  1. Filing: The complainant submits a detailed claim to legal@nic.cet.is.
  2. Review: The Registry reviews the claim for validity.
  3. Response: The registrant is given 14 days to respond.
  4. Decision: The Branch Warden or appointed panel issues a binding decision.
